The Royal City Youth Ballet Company is a registered Society formed in 1989. We bridge the gap between dance schools and professional companies. We are a non-profit organization which presents professional productions with elaborate costumes, sets and lighting. Performing at a high level is a dream which every dancer possesses and each deserves the opportunity.

Experience the magic of The Nutcracker this holiday season with RCYB’s full length 2-act classical ballet. Featuring a cast of 80+ dedicated and enthusiastic dancers under the artistic direction of Camilla Fishwick-Kellogg. There are magical soldiers, dueling mice, a Sugar Plum fairy along with audience favourites Snowflakes, Snow King & Queen, Waltz of the Flowers, Arabian, and Spanish all danced to the beautiful music of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker score. Our dancers are from across the Lower Mainland and vary in ages from 8yrs through to 18yrs. We are one of Canada’s longest running Nutcracker performance and are celebrating our 29th season!
As a non-profit organization, support from the community is a necessity. Our aim is to present the most professional production possible, not only in our dancers, but also with sets, lighting, costumes, programs, etc. The cost of putting on such productions is great. If you wish to donate please email email@example.com. For details on sponsorship opportunies please download the RCYB Sponsorship Benefits Package.
...The staging was fully professional, the set one of the best I have seen for a smaller stage. Performances are memorable, with a special fondness for your mice, both the costumes and the performances. It is so wonderful; to see dancers who vary physically working beautifully together, I am so tired of homogenized casting in ballet. The role of Clara was particularly well performed, well acted, well danced and her energy level never waned...
...I normally don't review places I have been but I am going to make an exception this time because it was so outstanding in so many ways...absolutely mesmerized by the costumes...The performance found me smiling though out mostly due to the expressions on the dancers faces. It was obvious to me that someone had taken great pains to assure that they knew when to show their emotions and put it into the performance. I can't say enough about this wonderful experience...
The dancing was flawless here in Duncan this afternoon. The sets and costumes were gorgeous. Our grand kids loved it. I highly recommend this production.
